ADVERTISEMENTS FOR HEWLETT-PACKARD CALCULATORS
The following are advertisements for various Hewlett-Packard calculators that appeared in technically-oriented publications (mainly Scientific American and Popular Electronics magazines).

HEWLETT-PACKARD HP 35
The HP-35 was HP's first handheld calculator. It was introduced in 1972 and discontinued in 1975.

This advertisement appeared in the October 1972 issue of Scientific American.

 
HEWLETT-PACKARD HP 45
The HP 45 was the company's second handheld scientific calculator, and the first to have a "shift" key to access multiple functions. The calculator was introduced in 1973 and discontinued in 1976.

This advertisement appeared in the January 1974 issue of IEEE Spectrum magazine, comparing the HP 35 to the HP 45.

 

HEWLETT-PACKARD HP 80
The HP-80 is HP's second handheld calculator and their first business calculator. It was introduced in 1973 and discontinued in 1978.

This advertisement appeared in the February 1973 issue of Scientific American.

 
HEWLETT-PACKARD HP CALCULATORS IN 1973
This two-page ad, describing the HP-35, HP-45 and HP-46, appeared in the July 1973 issue of Scientific American magazine.

 

HEWLETT-PACKARD HP 9805
The HP 9805 is a calculator designed for statistical operations. Unlike most of the other Hewlett-Packard calculators, the 9805 used algebraic operations rather than Reverse Polish Notation (RPN). It had an optional LED display and ROM modules for a limited number of peripherals.

The 9805 was introduced in 1973.

HEWLETT-PACKARD HP 9810
The HP 9810 is a three-line LED calculator.

The 9810 was introduced in 1971 as HP's second calculator (the 9100 was the first).

This advertisement appeared in the September 1971 issue of Scientific American.

 
HEWLETT-PACKARD HP 9820
The HP 9820 was HP's third calculator and their first to use algebraic entry.

The 9820 was introduced in 1972.

This advertisement appeared in the June 1972 issue of Scientific American.

This ad appeared in the December 1974 issue of IEEE Spectrum magazine.

HEWLETT-PACKARD HP 41
This appeared in the May 1981 issue of IEEE Spectrum magazine.  
HEWLETT-PACKARD HP 41 and HP 11C
This appeared in the February 1985 issue of IEEE Spectrum magazine, advertising the HP 41 and HP 11C (and mentioning the 15C and 16C).
