Marketing departments were arguably more creative during the early
years of the microcomputer era.  One method used to reach the young
(or young-at-heart) customer base was the use of comic books.  Zilog
commissioned several issues in the late 1970s to advertise their line
of microprocessors.  The story line was briefly interrupted with a
direct advertisement for their product.
